Danial Lenko Daniel Lenko – Proprietor
Daniel is a third generation grape grower, who took over the family farm in 1998. The following year, in 1999 he succeeded in fulfilling his vision of expressing the terroir of his family property by establishing a winery. Daniel’s passion for growing high quality wine grapes means he is involved in every aspect of the winery business, from managing the vineyards, to sales. In fact, if you come by on a weekend during the spring and summer it’s very likely Daniel will be in the kitchen, pouring newly released wines for an adoring public.
Thomas Laszlo

Thomas Laszlo – Winemaker
Thomas Laszlo was born, raised, and educated in Guelph, Ontario. Upon completion of his Diploma in Farm Management from the University of Guelph in 1993 Thomas accepted a position at Henry of Pelham Estate Winery as Assistant Winemaker. After three vintages on the 'Bench' Laszlo took his Canadian gained skills and went abroad.

From 1997 through to the end of the 2001 vintage Thomas held the position of Technical Director of Chateaux Pajzos and Megyer two of the top producers of Hungary's famous Tokaji Aszú. Upon his departure from Hungary Laszlo spent a brief time in Ontario, long enough to have his daughter be born a Canadian citizen. By the 2002 vintage once again he found himself abroad this time as Head Winemaker at Heron Hill Winery located in the Finger Lakes region of New York State. During his eight years there he focused on cool climate varieties with a special emphasis on producing several styles of outstanding Riesling that garnered praise and attention by the world's top wine critics. After thirteen years out of country the Laszlo family came back home to Niagara in 2010.

Having considerable experience working with prime Lenko fruit while at Henry of Pelham, Thomas´ quest for making great wine from top terroir has come full circle to where it all began.

William Lenko William Lenko – Pioneering Grape Grower
Bill is considered to be the pioneer in vinifera plantings in Canada. The year was 1959 and local farmers were more than sceptical when vines arrived in a box from "France" to the Lenko farm. Undeterred, Chardonnay vines were planted. With years of persistence and hard work the vineyard thrived, proving that the unique growing conditions of this farm were ideal for the relatively tender European grape varieties. This forward-looking vision continued with pioneering plantings of Merlot (1974), Riesling (1980) and Viognier (1993) among others. Bill’s influence and wealth of experience can still be found in all our wines.
Blacke V

Blackie (the fifth) – Official Greeter/Harvest Consultant
When you pull up to the winery you’re bound to be greeted by this friendly border collie. He loves all the attention you can give. As well as welcoming everyone to the winery, Blackie is also a very important indicator of harvest. When he starts eating the grapes, it’s time to pick!
